Beautiful studio pottery bowl Signed ‘Sowerby’
 
Circa 1960s - 1970s
 
Little is known about pieces signed ‘Sowerby’ some are often also marked ‘Langdale’ and are thought to originate from the Lake District, possibly made by a former Ambleside potter as the designs have very similar aesthetics
 
Striking painterly design in amber, black, brown and blue with incised linear markings
 
Approx 9cm depth / 26cm diameter
 
In excellent vintage condition
